We have 4 8.0.1 HF1163 LDAP servers in our environment serving names.nsf and a BP directory, both DBs have full text indexes set to index immediately. The problem seemed to occur after upgrading design on the names.nsf to ver 8.5.1. Now its seems that any time a full text index kicks off on names.nsf(seems to happen every 15 min)server response is very poor from OS level(using windows explorer) and from ldap response times. I have opened a PMR but am told that anytime a FT kicks off that I can expect performance to be very poor especially on names.nsf. I have been told to change FT updates to run from immediate to daily. While this is a possible workaround I have been running with the FTI set to immediate on names.nsf for years without having performance issues. The only other change recently in our environment has been a update to the domcfg login form, but I don’t see how this could be the cause of the issue. Any ideas?
