"Full name vs. full name then local part" problem. Matt?

Hi Matt (and others

At a customer site I’ve got the following scenario:

  • Domino 6.5 SMTP gateway

  • Using single Global Domain doc. with approx. 15 domains listed in “Alternate domains” and 1 domain as the primary domain

  • The configuration doc. says “Full name only” in Address Lookup

  • User A registered as userA@domain1.com and shortname userA

  • User B registered as userB@domain2.com and shortname userB

The problem:

Why is it possible to send mail to userA regardless of the domain when address lookup is set to “Full name only”???

The server was brought down and the index has been rebuilt with the “-r” parameter.

There’s no userA@domain2.com in the “$Users” view.

Any good ideas?

Kind regards,

Morten Schaumann

Try to register seperate Global Domain docs. for each of your “unique” domains.

One Global Domain doc for domain1.com, another for domain2.doc.

This way the server only matches the recipient on the full e-mail address in the Internet address field.

Hope this helps,

Brian

Thanks Brian, I’ll try it ASAP (thursday I think). I’ll write the result as a reply to this posting.

Sorry, it didn’t seem to fix the problem.

I think I have to give up on this one!

Thanks for your help.
