i’ve been trying to understand this problem all the hole week. Asked for some Notes Administrators but they could not answer me … 
The problem is … when I use a FTSearch to search (Jean P. Francois) on the client or Lotus/Java scripting it does not find.
But … when I look for “Jean P.” … it does find. Why ? Why when I put something after the dot FTSearch doesn’t find it ?

Some punctuation combinations can confuse search. I’m not an expert on search string syntax so I don’t know if that is deliberate or just a bug.
Having said that, it is always safer to use quotes around a phrase, especially one containing a punctuation character.
If you type “Jean P. Francois” (i.e. include the quotes) then it will find what you want.
