Hi all,I would like to know if it is possible to “teach” Domino new variants of words to allow them to be found when doing a FT search with the “word variants” switch on.
My specific problem is that French language uses ligatures, such as “œ” instead of the separate letters “oe”, and our documents rightly make use of them. However, users often search without taking the trouble to type the ligatures : e.g. they will search for “oeuvre” instead of “œuvre” (there are no keys for ligatures on the FR keyboard). Domino’s French language data do not seem to cover this, so often results are erratic.
The Fuzzy switch is too fuzzy…
To reproduce this problem, open the French language Lotus Notes R7 Client Help database and search (with or without the switch) for oeuvre (3 responses) and then œuvre (6 quite different responses).
Any ideas ?
