FT search of attachments

I would like to do FT search of attachments.

Word or PDF file is attached to a form. This is saved as a document. That document is then retrieved online through an online search function. That function searches through a view of all the documents in the DB. But the search function is not searching the attachments.

How can I achieve this, i.e do a full text search including the attachment? I’m using Domino 6.5.6.

Will changing the Index Settings of the database work, i.e., set it to index attachments? Someone in the forum mentioned that this only works for local DBs.

I’ve never heard anything about indexing attachments only working in local databases, and in fact that would be silly.

It’s certainly not going to work unless you activate that option. I think you should try it and see. Some guy in a forum doesn’t necessarily know what they’re talking about.
