FROM field using the DOC.SEND

I am using the doc.send function to send a document to a recipient using Lotus Script.

I would like to be able to set the FROM field so that the recipient see an email from our TEAM Mailbox rather than an Individual.

I have tried setting the FROM field using the following

Set Item = doc.replaceitemvalue(“from”,“OPS”)

Debugging it, the value is set at the point the script runs, however it looks as if once the DOC.SEND function sends the email, the FROM item is overwritten with my name.

Does anyone have any suggestions…?

Many thanks

Subject: FROM field using the DOC.SEND

This should be covered in the Agent FAQ:

The specific section you want is titled “How can I change the apparent sender of agent generated mail?”

Excellent. That is exactly what I was looking for.

Many thanks for your time.

Subject: Workaround to setting the From field

We have a MailScript script library that you can include in your code which enables you to set the value of the ‘From’ field without the other workarounds you have to do (such as setting Principal or ReplyTo values).

This script is ideal for automated agents (for example those sent out on websites). It’s easy to use & well documented.

You can download it from:

Hope it helps.
