French Accent badly translated in MIME mails

Since our upgrade to 601CF3 fr server on us OS, we have realized that our mail sent to internet are strangely fromatted. French accent are converted in strange charatere : Ä© for é…

The problem didn’t exist before, it’s related to our upgrade. I tried unsuccessfully to make some changes on our configuration doc in Mime settings.

Do somebody have any idea ?

When you see two characters for one, it might be UTF-8. The characters Ä© are valid UTF-8, but I think for ĩ, certainly not é. I know this does not help you to fix the problem, but I hope it is a clue.

Thks for your reply.

I modified in the configuration document of my smtp server the “converting a multilingual message to mime” option to Unicode UTF8 to “most representable charset”, but it changes nothing. I had the same problem

I hope that somebody who are using this release can check & tell me if he has the same problem ?

I finally found that the problem came from the client configuration. By changing in the user’s preferences, internet, mail settings, “Multilingual Internet Mail” : Use Best MAtch solved my pb

Please check the following settings in your Notes mailFile - Preferences - User Preferences - Mail - Internet

I suggest you change the following preferences and see what works best for you.

Multilingual Internet mail

If your option is Use Unicode[UTF-8] change it to Best Match.
