We are using Microsoft Transporter Suite for Directory synchronization b/w Domino and Exchange. We have been able to get Free/Busy to work from Outlook to Domino but from Lotus Notes client we cannot view F/B of a user who is on Exchange.
Out calendar domain is called ExchFreeBusy. The only way we can view F/B of a user on Exchange is when we changed the Person Document of the migrated user as follows:
Format Preference for incoming Mail - Prefers MIME
Mail file set to blank
Mail server = Domino Server running excalcon.exe
Mail system: Other
Forwarding Address: user@e2k7.domain.com
Internet Address: user@domain.com
User Name: user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy (i.e forwarding address@calendardomain)
Calendar Domain: ExchFreeBusy
Moreover, F/B only works when user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy is listed as the First name in the User Name field of the Person Document, else F/B does not display.
The problem with this approach is when a Lotus Notes user chooses an Exchange user when inviting him for a meeting or sending an email, the display name is displayed as user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy instead of User/Ou/Domain or even Firstname LastName.
Is there a reason why Not having user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy as the first name does not resolve F/B queries? We get a message"“No Message Queue with that name” if user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy is not the first name in the User Name field.
Is there any workaround to keep user@e2k7.domain.com@ExchFreeBusy as the first name in User name field of the Person Document but make sure when users chooses the Exchange user from the Domino Address Book, it is shown as User/OU/Domain or simply FirstName LastName.
