I have a web frameset with 3 frames. Frame1 contains some reference values that the user would pick and all subsequent documents would be filtered based on his/her choice. Frame2 contains all the potential links to databases and views, and Frame3 needs to display the content. How can I show, for example, a single category view in Frame3 based on a reference value already chosen in Frame1? All I need is a field on the form in Frame3 that knows the value chosen (but not saved) in Frame1.
For example, in Frame1 a user would pick ‘blue’. Then in Frame2 any link picked like ‘shirt’, ‘shoes’, etc, would present a view in Frame3 only containing ‘blue shirts’, etc.
What I have done so far is to populate a field on the form in Frame3 with the value in Frame1 – using javaScript. Unfortunately the form loads first then the javaScripts puts the reference value on the field. It would be nice if I could load the form initially with the value in Frame1.
