Frame Content Not Showing in Domino Designer

One of my co-workers is creating a database and cannot get the frame contents to show in Domino Designer. All she gets is a grey screen with “content type” and “content value” displayed.

The frame contents show up just fine when she opens the database in the Notes Client.

When I look at this same database in my Designer I can see the contents.

She has tried with several databases and can’t get the frame contents to show on any of them.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

We finally figured out what was happening. She did not have “Show Frame Content” checkmarked in the “View” menu of Designer when the frameset was opened.

Kewl, I never even noticed that this was an option …

Subject: Probably caused by formula evaluation of content…

Sometimes this happens when frame content is evaluated using formulas to display certain view or forms or perhaps environment variables. If the environment variable is set prior to designing the formula the contents will show, otherwise it will not. Re-designing the formula in again will usually solve the problem, although it’s not really a problem since it works in the client.

A bit fuzzy but hope it helps.

The frame contents are not using formulas or environmental variables. One frame is a named page and the other frame is a named view.

Subject: Strange…

What happens if your co-worker reselects the view and page used in the frameset? Do they display correctly? Or try toggling between a different view/page and then switch back. Sometimes things seem to end up in some sort of cache.

Try creating a new frameset and selecting the view and page. Any results?

We have tried all that. In fact, I have even deleted her notes cache and bookmarks, but am still having the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
