We have mail-in databases for several different functions and it works very well on the web. You can forward a message from the mail-in database and it shows on the message that it has been forwarded and you can see it in sent folder in the mail-in database.
But in the client you have to have switch mailfile in your location to get the same functionality (or have several locations). Otherwise you get no icon on the message that you have forwarded and the forwarded message ends up in the sentfolder of the mailfile specified in your location. If you use a lot of mail-in databases this gets confusing. Is it posible to get the webfunctionality in the client without switching locations?

To my knowledge you’ve never been able to ‘forward’ unless you have the appropriate access to the mailfile specified in the location document.
Not sure if 6.5 ‘roaming’ has fixed this anyway though…

Not without modifiying the mail template.On R6 the forward button has the following logic:
REM {R6 Style Full Forward};
@If(@UserName = @GetProfileField( “CalendarProfile”; “Owner”);
@Command([ComposeWithReference]; “” ; “Memo”; 1 + 2 + 32 + 64);
@Command([ComposeWithReference]; @MailDbName ; “Memo”; 1 + 2 + 32 + 64))
So R6 checks, if the user is the same as the mailfile owner and if not, it uses the mailfile of the user, not the currently open mailfile.
So you need to modify the logic to simply @Command([ComposeWithReference]; “” ; “Memo”; 1 + 2 + 32 + 64); than it should work, if you have the proper access rights. (You have to modify all buttons (Forward, with or without attachments and internet style etc.)
If you only have read rights, then you probably can forward it, but get an error, that you can’t save it in the send folder.
