Format Prefernces for Incoming Mail

I have changed the FORMAT PREFERNCES FOR INCOMING MAIL from KEEP IN SENDERS FORMAT to PREFERS MIME.I did this because I found that incoming invitations from non Notes environments looked as if it was sent from Notes. The end users liked the fact that it did not require any more steps to Accept or Decline the meeting. What I noticed after this was that when I received an e-mail that should have a DocLink that the link was not there. I tried the other setting, PREFERS NOTES RICH TEXT and did not find it to work any better.

Thanks for your time.

Subject: Format Prefernces for Incoming Mail

Hey Jim, we have the very same issue. What we found was that if a user was using the 6.0.2 CF2 client, they would not see the paperclicp icon nor the attachment when you open the message, but using the 7.0.2 client, you still did not see the icon, but you are able to see the attachment within the email itself.

Found this technote: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21109097

But it seems that the inbound message must have some corrupt HTML tags, because everytime we received an email, we saw that the email had a customized form or it had a jpeg within the footer/signature which caused the attachment to not appear.

For out 6 clients, we changed the person document to Rich Text for incoming messages, and then they were able to see the attachment.

Other than that, I have not researched it further if IBM has fixed it in 7.0.2 or not. It was fixed in 7.0.
