Form w/ Embedded View

I have a form which has an embedded view. When this document is opened, it is in Read Mode. The Action buttons include a Edit button which should switch it to Edit Mode. When the Edit button is clicked, I get a message “Cannot execute the specified command”. It looks like I’m getting that message because the embedded view has the focus and not the document. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had some similar problems to this with embedded views. My solution was to set up global variables for the notesuidocument and the notesuiview in the postopen event of the form. When the form first opens the notesuiworkspace contains both a uidoc and uiview because neither have focus.

You can then use your global variable for uidoc to call edit mode.
