Form value is blank

I’ve inconsistent behavior in one of my databases. All new documents are created from an Action Button (@Command([Compose]; formname). Sometimes documents are saved, yet cannot be found in any views, as if they were not saved. Only when I built a view showing all documents was I able to see that these “missing” docs had no value in the Form field. So far, I can find no rhyme or reason to it. Over 10% of new docs are now being saved like this. These “blank” forms have been created by at least 2 different users on 2 different PC’s/Notes clients, yet this scenario cannot (has not) been reproduced.

I know I can simply resolve the existing ones by assigning a Form value, and there are ways to monitor this occurence. But prevention is key. Compact is run nightly, and I just recently ran fixup - time will tell if that helped anything. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Any insight much appreciated. Thx

Is there any form event code that could be mucking about and setting form to null?

Subject: RE: Form value is blank

Hello Doug -

No, I can’t find anything that is setting the Form value. I did, however, just discovered some statements in the Querysave event, that was evidently expiremented with and not properly disposed of. I removed the 2 Set statements (below) that appeared to be leftovers. Nothing explicitly setting Form value, but perhaps it got in the way? Inconsistent behavior difficult to track, so time will tell…

Sub Querysave(Source As Notesuidocument, Continue As Variant)

Set uidoc = source

Set note = uidoc.Document

End Sub
