I have a form that is not left justified when it is opened. I have to scroll back to the left to see the fields on the left hand side of the screen. I looked for form settings or anything else that could cause this and cannot find anything.
Subject: RE: Form not left justified when opened
Is this in read mode, edit mode, or both?
The left edge of the form is not visible when you open – correct?
Where is the focus when you open the document? The screen will scroll so that the focus is visible. If the thing that’s highlighted is far to the right, that could account for it.
If you have some paragraphs whose left alignment is larger than 1", this might affect where the Notes client decides to scroll to on open. It depends on where they are on the form, I believe; if they are at the top…

That is correct that the left edge of the form is not visible. I do not have any fields as the default focus. It just defaults to the first input field. All of the paragraphs are aligned at .5. I did copy an existing form that aligns fine and added a column to the front of a table and it started doing the same thing. I tried putting in code for the horizontal scroll bar and that didn’t work either.

I am having the same problem.
Lisa, are you saying that the original form which aligned correctly had a left margin of 0.5"?
It seems to me that any left margin less than 0.75" will cause this problem because Lotus cuts off 0.75" from the left edge of the page by default.

I am running into this problem. The form needs to be printed and if I set the table margin any larger, the text gets cut off. That’s the reason I am setting the Left Table Margin to 0.500
The Horizontal Scroll = False doesn’t help.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks,
Quin
Subject: Found a workaround
I finally found a work around.
-
I created an editable text field above and outside of the first table and gave it a Left Table margin of 0.500 (same as the table). Next, I made the field color (field background and field text) the same as the form’s background, essentially hiding the field from view.
-
I selected the option “give field initial (default) focus” for the second field on the form, originally the first field. Now the cursor appears at the first visible field.
That’s it. The screen is now left justified and the cursor appears where it should and the form prints the entire contents without getting chopped off on the right.
Drawback: If someone tabs around the form, they will stumble across the editable text field. IMHO, that’s a small price to pay for the results.
Hope this helps someone else out there having the same issue I was having,
Quin

try using notesUIDocument.HorzScrollBar = false
in the postopen or similar event of the form
