Hello,
I have a field named “Printed” that I want to set to “1” if the document has been printed. The problem is that when the user clicks on the “Print” button the document is usually opened for reading and the “Printed” field isn’t set to “1”. Is there any way to set a field/flag without being in editing mode or can I do the following with a button:
-
Force Editing Mode
-
Set Field “Printed” to “1”
-
Save the Document
-
Force Reading Mode
-
Print the Document
Thanks in advance
Regards
Frank
Subject: Forcing Editing mode with an action?
You might try some LotusScript under the button
uidoc.EditMode=true
uidoc.FieldSettext(“Printed”,“1”)
uidoc.EditMode=False
uidoc.Print(whatever)
the user will see a little flicker, but it will work.
if its not important for the field to be set on the uidoc then try getting a handle on the backend document by using the Document property of the uidoc…
set doc = uidoc.Document
doc.Printed(0)=“1”
doc.save true,true
uidoc.Print(whatever)
you won’t get the flicker in this case

Hi Robert and thanks. =)
Unfortunately I don’t know how to do LotusScript so I’m stuck with @-commands and @-functions at the moment. Maybe I’ll solve the problem with the help of a profile document instead. =)
Thanks once again!
