Folders are lost, or green in archive

Hello All,

I hope, you can help me with this issue.

I got a customer, who used an archive since a few weeks, and after a seemly successful archiving, his folders are lost from the archive database, and a few remaining are now green. Do someone know, what could help? There is no backup on archives, a design refresh not helped, since they are user created folders.

Thanks!

Best regards:

Andras

Hopefully, the messages are in the All Documents view and haven’t been accidently deleted. We’ve had the problem of folders not going to the archive for some time, though I don’t recall seeing green folders.

One way to get the folders back - best if there are only a few:

Make a list of the missing folders

  1. Close the Notes client

  2. Re-open the client and open mail. DO NOT open the archive yet.

  3. Go to the first folder that doesn’t show up in the archive

  4. Rename the folder - if it was originally named “accounts” maybe you want to name it “accounts1”.

  5. Create a “dummy” message in the folder

  6. Archive the single document using “Archive, Selected documents” from the Actions menu

Open the archive to see if the folder is now in the archive with the dummy message. If it appears, great. Now you have to close and reopen Notes and repeat steps 3 through 6 for each of the missing folders. If the user doesn’t want to keep the new name for the folders, the process will need to be repeated to change the names back. Unfortunately, this won’t move messages from the All Documents view into the folders.

What might be quicker, if the user will let you make copies of the archive, create a template from the user’s mailfile and use it to replace the design of the archive.

good luck
