Is this working as designed?

Steps to reproduce this problem

  • Open your mail file

  • click on Tools → click Rules or Stationery

  • Right click on Folders → select New Folder…

  • Enter Folder name and select to have it created under Folders by clicking on Folders and click OK

  • Now go to the new folder that you just created, if you have clicked on Rules in the second steps above then your new folder design will be the Rules Folder’s design…

  • The folder is created properly if you are in a folder

I came across this problem because I was working with mail rules and before I was going to create a new mail rule, I right clicked on Folders to create a folder…

  • This does not happen if you click on

Create → Folder… to create a new folder

Subject: New Folder should create a New Folder

I like the ability to right click on Folders and be able to create a new folder but this should create a folder properly regardless if I’m in Mail Rules, etc…Thank you.
