I had a folder named lotus that had a sub folder named all.
Then i created a new folder names lotus7 with a sub folder all.
after i closed and opened the mail db the all folder from the notes disappeared (with all the mails) and i had only this folder under notes7 with no mail.
I tested this with 7.0.1 client and had the same problem.
in the designer mode i can see that the original folder still exists.
If i change the name of the folder notes7\all to be notes7\all1 then the original folder returns.
can some one tell me the reason for this ? is this a bug ?
I don’t want to tell all my users that they can’t use the same names for sub folders if the directory has a similar name
More than likely this is because there is a hidden view called $all. You can see this in the designer client under views. You should never name a folder or view with a name that is already in use by Lotus.
I would check the folder names you want to use against the views and folders in the design of the mail template you are using. If any match, don’t use them. This is the only time I have seen what you are describing. Otherwise, open an issue with IBM. Good luck!
