I tried to install Fix Pack 3 on my server I was running 6.5.4 FP2 the install errored out and said that it could not delete some notes files.
So I quit the install and it then rolled me back to 6.5.4 with no fix packs applied! I tried then to reinstall 6.5.4 fp 2 to bring my server back to the level I had before the attempted install of FP3. But same errors
has anyone seen these errors?
Or am I just better of calling support or upgrading 6.5.5?
Thanks for any Postings!!!
Subject: Fix pack Issues
I’m not sure, but maybe this can help you too.
On a unix system there is a File called “.install.dat”.
This file contains informations about the previos installation.
MAKE A BACKUP !!!
Well this works on AIX:
The file install.dat (hidden file) contains references to the previous version of the Domino server.
To solve this issue, backup the original install.dat file (or get a new one from another server since it may have been deleted) and change the content of the file as follow:
installation_inotes = 1
installation_type = 2
isLocal = 1
kitArch = “aix”
nuicfg {
UIC = “UIC_Incr.pm” => replace with UIC = “UIC_Full.pm”
baserev = 50110 => Remove this line
fix_rev = ()
kitType = “incr” => replace with kittype = “full”
rev = 50120 => Make sure this is the correct version
}
pPath = “/usr/domino/lotus/notes/50120/ibmpow”
perl = “/NotesData/temp/aix/tools/bin/aix/Perl”
program_directory = “/usr/domino/lotus”
ptPath = “/usr/domino/lotus”
ptPathExistRev = 50110 => Remove this line
ptSize = 60619430
ptSizeReclaim = 59629505
rev = 50120 => Make sure this is the correct version
targetHost = “localhost”
Save the file and run the installer again.
