When is IBM going to get off their hands and fix DWA to work with Firefox 3!?
Hey IBM! This is a marketing opportunity here! Why are you ignoring the 20%+ POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS who are TRYING to use Firefox?! If you don’t want Microsoft to take your market share, maybe you should realize that the Firefox users should be your FIRST TARGET MARKET!
How many MONTHS has it been since Firefox 3.0 first came out?! What are you doing?!

Firefox 3.0 included a security fix which breaks most Web apps that have tried to leverage signed script to implement more complex capability within Firefox (such as Modal Dialogs). See this Bugzilla posting to better understand what changed within Firefox:

Well, Notes 8.0.1 came out in February 2008
Firefox 3.0 came out in June 2008
Would have been impressive of IBM to make sure 8.0.1 worked with something that hadn’t been released yet.
Try upgrading to a later version and see if that works.

…but you seem to have misread my original post. I did not ask for IBM to support something before it came out. I asked how many MONTHS have passed since FF3 came out, and IBM still has not released a fix. I think it is reasonable to expect that there would be a fix for this already. Doesn’t that seem reasonable to you?

Your post said you were using 8.0.1. If that’s not correct then fair enough. We’re using 8.0.2 and don’t have any issues with Firefox 3.
Have you contacted IBM support and asked if there are any hotfixes available?
Subject: dwa 8.01 conflict with FF3
Well, I’ve read all posted links. It appears from reading the Bugzilla notes referred to, that there is a simple fix available to IBM. It also appears that (as Dan says) FF3 came out in June 2008 and here it is: August 2009 with no fix from IBM for DWA 8.01 at this time. That looks like over 13 Months without a fairly simple fix by IBM. This does not seem reasonable.
I do appreciate people taking their time to respond to my concerns. I just have not seen anything that explains why there is no solution, yet.

Well, since 8.0.1 came out IBM have released 8.0.2 with FP1 and FP2, 8.5 and 8.5 FP1
That’s quite a lot of ‘fixes’. If you patch your server to 8.0.2 it’ll work. Not sure what you want IBM to do?
