Fine Tuning Notes Search

We have a database that is used as a Tech Support Knowledgebase. The problem is that the Notes Search doesn’t seem to work very well on it. This database is Full Text Indexed, set to Immediate.

My boss has asked me to see if there is a way to “fine tune” the Notes search mechanism. He tried to show me an example of an innaccurate Notes Search, but couldn’t come up with one.

This is kind of a hot topic with him. Is there anything elase I can do to improve the accuracy of Notes search?

Full Text Searches always seem to have an air of mystery because of Fuzzy search algorithms and also because of hidden fields. There are small tuning things you can do in the Create Full Text search popup, but I would definitely give the boss pen/paper and ask him to jot down examples as they occur and then you can specifically troubleshoot those.
