File >> Export in Notes Client

Hello,

We are able to disable exporting documents in a particular database using the File >> Export menu, by modifying the ViewExpName# and EditExpName# parameters in notes.ini when the database is open and revert back the parameters value once the database is closed. This solution works perfectly well if you only wish to block exporting documents in a particular database. Apparently one of the problem I now encounter is that what if you open the database that disable the exporting, and concurrently you opened a second database and you want to export its documents. In my case it is not possible to export any longer because the notes.ini is already configured not to export documents and the only way to do this is to close the first database that revert the values of notes.ini to allow exporting again.

Is there any other way where to allow exporting the documents in the second database without closing the first database? Are there any special setting in notes.ini I need to setup? Another thing is there a way to open a database in client in a Modal Window mode, which means that I can’t switch to another window in Notes Client if I currently open the database? Appreciate your suggestion

Subject: Can you use the database property?

You don’t say exactly which Notes 8.x version you are using, but Notes 8.0.2 upwards has a database property that allows you to prevent view data exporting on a database-by-database basis. See http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21314694
