I installed lotus notes 8.5 designer without connecting to any mail server. Will I be able to send mails through code ?

It’s impossible send emails from a agent without a server conection, because is the server which will route the email to the user’s mail database.

you can setup your location document to indicate that your mail file is on local and send mail through domino server. your client will place mails you send in mail.box on your local client but they will never get sent anywhere. developers often to this to trap mail while testing so that the end user does not actually get the e-mail.

try creating location to GMAIL and account document in your names.nsf. Then your client will be connected.
