Field value from a document on Web?

Hi:

I need to get with JavaScript in Onload Event the value of a field in Read Mode on the Web.

I tried with

var var1;

//var1 = document.forms[0].field1.value;

field2 is null or is not an object

var1 = document.forms[0].field1;

undefined

but it don’t work.

How can i do this???

Subject: Field value from a document on Web?

Turn on the option Generate HTML for Fields in the form properties.

This will ensure that the fields have INPUT tags created for them, even though they are hidden.
