Users click e-mailed link back to a database with reader-level access granted to default. Apparently they were able to open the linked LN documents in the past. Now they are getting this error message instead (See subject).
There is a field labeled ‘Levels’ that does a lookup to the database profile document (exists) and pulls back a number from the field.

The problem is in a formula associated with the field. Did you look at all the field’s formulas? Why didn’t you post them here? Can a reader with more access open the document? How much access does it require? If you remove the @GetProfileField can the users open the documents? Can you think of any other tests you can try yourself?

Sorry about that. Maybe this post will help someone else:
The profile document had a Readers field with a database role as one of the readers. The Default access did not have the role association and thus was unable to access the field on the profile because they did not have reader-level access to the document.
