Just ran across this.
If you put a text field in a section and add ‘field hint’ information, the hint doesn’t display.
If you move the field outside of the section, the hint shows up.
In both cases, the ‘help description’ does display in the status line of the Notes window.
I don’t find anything in Help that says field hints are layout sensitive and a quick search of the forum didn’t turn anything up.
