Hello again,
I’ve created a RSS Feed from a simple Notes database (our bulletin board).
The view only contains Documents (no categories), I’m using the encoding type ISO-8859-1 and conected all view entry protperties with my colums in the view.
I can even look at the XML File in my Firefox Browser and I’ve checked it as a well-formed XML (W3C Markup Validator).
But every time I try to put this Feed into the Notes Feeds I get the error message: “Unable to parse feed from server”.
Can anybody help?
Thanks!

Subject: Could you post the Trace log when you get this error
Hi…
Would you please post the Trace log. You can get it from Help->Support->View Trace
Do you have a Proxy Server Configured?
Subject: Trace has no entry
Hi there,
I would do, but the Trace has no log at this point. So I can’t look what’s happening.

Subject: I have the same issue
Hi, I’ve created a feed using the RSS template in 8.5 which pulls from a simple flat view. I’m able to view the feed in Firefox, but not in the notes client RSS reader.
Can some one help?

Subject: Now it’s clear
Thanks for your help, but the problem seems to be clear now.Our problem is, that every time you want to read the feed you habe to log in. And exactly that’s the point! I tried different RSS Reader - but only one could show me this error message.
Subject: Could you tell me more
Hi…
I am not clear as to what the issue was…
It seems you have a feed that requires authentication? If so, did you create an account for it in Preferences->Accounts?
Is the feed basic authentication…or form based authentication?

You may check this one:http://www.urspringer.de/index.php/2008/03/11/notes_8_external_feeds_are_not_working_i
This at least solved our problem.

Subject: Change has no effect
Thanks for your response!
But the problem is, even if I change the file (com.ibm.rcp.net.http.prefs) it doesn’t work, because it won’t stay the way I configure it.
Right now the content looks like this:
http.nonProxyHosts=
Even if I add something, as soon as I start the Client again it’s the old thing again. Even if I delete this line, it will become the same again.
