It would be nice, if when the command ‘restart server’ is used, if the remote console wasn’t the first service to be shut down.
Typicaly, the first line seen in the remote console window is ‘remote server is not responding’ which is really unhelpful.
In my, view, the remote console should be one of the last processes to be unplugged, and automatically re-started as one of the first processes if a remote console was being used prior to shutdown.
Your request is a catch 22 John. The reason you get the first line “remote server is not responding” is b/c Domino just drop all the user sessions.
The IBM’ers are going to have a hard time with this request because you are asking the server to drop everyone except you? Can’t you view the messages you want from the true console (not the remote)?
