…would it be possible to have the Client Version that gets stored in each user’s person document show if the client is running Notes basic or standard?
I’m thinking that when we come to roll out 8.5, we may well have a mix of basic and standard clients, and it’d be useful for support and auditing purposes to have an at-a-glance view of which client the user was actually running.

This is a good idea but perhaps it would be worthwhile to keep a short history of the clients used with a last-use date.
This would be for the user that may use the web interface, then use a pc with a full client and then roam to another pc with a different client.
Having just the last used client info, while valid for 95% or more of the users, would be misleading for others.

In large organizations with a large directory already; the client information is not as useful and just makes a larger names.nsf to deal with.
