We are evaluating a replacement for our trusty Fax for Domino 5. It is critical that we have the same fax preview function in email that the Lotus product gave us. Would you kind folks tell me if any particular fax software you use will give us this capability? We do know that Messagemanager does not? Does the VSI or Biscom products allow this? It would also be nice if the fax server product doesn’t require it be run on a Domino server. One less server to license is always nice. I believe that Biscom has this capability and requires only the client. The fax preview is the highest requirement on our list, however.

Hello,I’m looking for a replacement for FxD, but all solutions seem to be quit more expensive than FxD was. Is there a good solution around for more ore less 2.000 dollars?

I’m looking at ZetaFax now, although it’s more a gateway…

i can offer you fax very similar product for about 2.250 euro list price (10 user license).

i think that you can upgrade from fxd to it.

i’ll check this and think that (if yes), it’ll be cheaper for you.

I just finished implementing RightFAX and in my opinion the product is great. The cost was less than others and contains many features that the other do not. Someone mentioned about support for ND6 … that is true, they are not certified to work with ND6 at this time (more than likely not till fall this year) but with their minimal integration you basically have the same product as FxD was. I was able to create my own integration based on their modified R5 template which works just fine …

ExtraComm support:

Domino 6.5.1 is still a new release and our QA team is still testing it against our ExtraFax 6.1 version for compatibility. Currently we have not heard any problems but ExtraFax 6.1 is not certify for Domino 6.5.1 yet.

We have very good experience with Topcall and CAE Unified Messaging Servers but I think both attach the fax as tif. Please check the specs of the newer versions yourself.

StephenRightFax from CAPTARIS do not have a certified version for R6 or R6.0.1.

Update:

Upgraded our R5 infrastructue to R6 after testing without any issues.

You might want to check out Genifax from Omtool.

Genifax doesn’t seem to have support for R6 and very little if any integration with the Notes client. Are you familiar with this product? Is there something I may have missed?

I’m working with a fax solution which provides a preview functionality and a lot more.

Sofar it’s Notes/Domino based.

I’ve heard that they want to produce a Domino independent version of it.
