msg := “Invalid UNC path!” + @Repeat(@Char(13);2) + “Sample UNC Path:” + @Char(13) + “\\computer_name\shared_folder\subfolder\”;
@If (valid_unc_path;@Success; @Failure(msg));
Using @Failure, why the value of msg variable is displayed only in one line of the message box?
However, it’s displayed properly when used in @Prompt:
i.e…
@Prompt([OK];“Error Occured”; msg);
why o why???
Subject: @Failure with @Char(13)
Try using @NewLine instead of @Char(13)
Subject: Use @Char(10) not 13… 13 = Carriage Return, 10 = Line Feed (same as @NewLine)
or @Char(10), not 13.
Subject: None worked
None worked.
Using @NewLine, @Failure truncates the string upto @Newline;
Using @Char(10), @Failure displays the string in one line;
@NewLine != @Char(10), they behave differently.
thanks for the suggestions though.
Anyone from Lotus/IRIS/IBM?

You could use this kind of workaround:
msg := “Invalid UNC path!” + @Char(13) + “Sample UNC Path:” + @Char(13) + “\\computer_name\shared_folder\subfolder\”;
@If(valid_unc_path;@Success;@Failure(“Moving to Erraneous Field”+@Left(@Text(@Prompt([Ok];“Field Contains Incorrect Value”;msg));0)))
The only bad thing is that there are 2 dialog boxes, but it’s more informative!
Btw, @Newline seems to work also with @Prompt, although the Help says only @Char(13) would work. Maybe @Newline works only with Notes 6-7.
