Failed to install Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.2 via Lotus Mobile Installer

We have some Nokia E71 mobiles which in the supported list of Lotus Traveler 8.5.2. However, I failed to install Lotus Traveler 8.5.2 on these devices.

Here are the details of scenario:

  1. Lotus Note Traveler server is 8.5.2 version resides on Windows 2003 32bit server;

  2. The Nokia E71 mobile ROM upgraded to latest version 500.21.008(28-05-2010) already;

Error info:

  1. For one new ROM upgraded Nokia E71, I downloaded the Lotus Mobile Installer for Symbian S60 and installed one Nokia E71. However, the error “Lotus Installer System error (-1)!” is keeping occurred when try to setup the connection with server after inputting user name/password/server address and GPRS access point.

Actually I have another Nokia E71 which running Traveler well for several monthes. After carefully check, I found the version of Traveler is actually 8.5.1.1 although the server is Domino 8.5.2. Moreover, I tried to use Lotus Mobile Installed to update the Notes Traveler, the same error message will appeared. So I am wondering whether Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.2 is really supporting Nokis S60 device.

  1. Just confirmed Notes Traveler 8.5.1.1 was embedded by Nokia once upgraded to latest S60/500.21.008 version. It can’t be uninstalled via App. Manager(even uninstall, it will come back after restart mobile);

  2. After testing, it was confirmed that Traveler 8.5.2 can’t be running on Nokia E71 with below ROM versions: 100.21.108(year 2008); 400.21.011(Sep 19, 2009);500.21.008(May 28,2010); The same error “Louts Installer Sysetm error (-1)!” occurred for any version.

Traveler 8.5.2 supports Nokia S60 3rd and 5th editions.You need to open a PMR so that we can get the TPR from the device (or manually get the logs from the device).
