Fail with angle brackets in sender name

in cases where the sender’s RFC822 Phrase contains “<” or “>” , the Notes client will fail to build the reply address.

For example, if sender address is "Lotus Forever"realaddress@domen.com

Notes client (and iNotes) build the reply address as IBM@domen.com

Server and client - 9.0.1

It was fixed in Lotus Notes 6.5.6 and 7.0.2 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21192747 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21192747

Is downgrade to 7.0.2 the better way to resolve the problem? :wink:

As the issue was fied in Notes 7, in theory it should not occurs on later releases.

If you are facing this issue using Notes/Domino 9.x, I suggest you to open a PMR with IBM Support to investigate the issue on your side and check if it is a possible regression.
