II recently upgraded my client to 6.01. The Domino server is still 5.5. I needed to upgrade for local testing purposes.

Everything was going fine until a user I registered could not use their id - they got a message saying the signature was invalid.

Now when I try to register new people I get the following error message in the Register People dialog box:

“You cannot modify or register this entry. It is not encrypted with your key.”

I tried registering with different OUs - same message. I removed Notes 6 and replaced Notes 5.08. Same message

I created a new OU - it registered fine, but same message when I tried to use it.

i have now swapped to a completely different Notes/Domino set up (although the client is still on the same machine)- different server, different O/OU, different client - SAME MESSAGE.

Can anyone throw any light on this, I am tearing my hair out!

Subject: Error: You can’t modify or register this entry

Try re-creating your userreg.nsf file. One of our folks was having the same issue, and recreating the file solved the problem.
