Error when trying to see members of an Activity in 8.5 Client sidebar: An internal error occurred during: ActivityPanel: showMembersView". java.lang.NullPointerException

The Activities sidebar seem to be broken since upgrading to 8.5 I can see an activity, but the Add button is dimmed and display options don’t seem to work. The “More” options to edit and delete, etc the activity also do not work (dimmed). I’ve tried creating new activities and they act the same way. I’ve also tried from the browser and it still doesn’t work in the client. Everything works fine in the browser, however.

When I select Display → Members, I get the following error:

An internal error occurred during: “ActivityPanel: showMembersView”.

java.lang.NullPointerException

We are using Lotus Connections 2.0.1 with I believe all fixes released up until yesterday.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks

Steve

Subject: Please provide some more info

I have some questions and things to try:

from what version did you upgrade to 8.5 ?

can you attach logs for the error you are seeing

when you click on the Notes search bar drop down: can you see other services than Activities (assuming there is more than Activities installed on your server)?

Some of the options being greyed out sounds like an access rights problem. I believe you are either owner or author of those Activities, so that should not be the case.

Can you try to edit the Activities server url. Basically it needs to be modified to recreate the account. You can do this by either removing or appending “/activities” to the url, or change it to something else and then back.

Then restart Notes. And let me know if that helps.
