Error using API CRPE with NotesSQL 3.02g

Hi, I have followed step by step the instructions in “cr_lotusnotes_api” to lunch a report from Lotus Notes using Crystal Report Print Engine API. But the problem is that using NotesSQL 2.06 works fine while with NotesSQL 3.02g doesn’t work. The code is the same in both cases, I have only changed the NotesSQL version. Should I change the code to work with NotesSQL 3.02g? Why doesn’t it work with NotesSQL 3.02g? Has anyone a code working with Lotus Notes 6.5 and NotesSQL 3.02g?

Hi again. More things about this subject, this configuration is working now in the computer clients:

  • Lotus Notes 6.5

  • Runtime Crystal Report 7

  • Lotus NotesSQL 2.06

But you have to cheat the computer client because NotesSQL 2.06 needs Notes5 to work. You have to add this keys in windows registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes\5.0]

with the path and datapath of your Lotus Notes 6 values.

If you try to install NotesSQL 3.02 with this configuration, the program shows you the well known error:

“599 Cannot open SQL server”

Hi again, I have found out the solution one year later. I used to call the reports using first PEOpenPrintJob(RptName) and after PEStartPrintJob(hJob, True). The problem with NotesSQL 3.02 was that you need to log on inside the code to work. If you use PELogOnServer(“PDSODBC.DLL”, LogOnInfo) between the two functions the report will work.I guess that the system to manage the log in with NotesSQL 3.02 and NotesSQL 2.06 is different.
