Error - Unable to change password on Cert.id

I want to change the password on our cert.id.I have the old password, and choose Configuration - ID Properties in the administator client. After typing the new password twice, a dialogbox tells: “Wrong password - Passwords are case sensitive etc.”, I press OK, and an error dialog box : “Your password has not been changed”. If I use a wrong password the dialog is as normal, that is, “Wrong password, try again”, or “The passwords entered are not the same”. I have tried two different 8.5 clients. Could the cert.id be corrupt? It is not write protected.

Can you use the cert.id to register a new user - does it accept the “old” password? Is this only 8.5 admin client?

Subject: Reply to Questions

I tried, and I cannot create a new user, error message is “Wrong Password”.I have not tried with other clients than 8.5.

But it still accepts the password when choosing “Id Properties”. If I try another password, it is denied, so I suppose the password is correct.

Is this problem only with the one certifier id file?Could you create a dummy certifier and get it to have the same problem?

If you could - please send me that dummy certifier - rpaganet@us.ibm.com.

Are you running 8.5 gold build? What platform is the client running on?

Does same behavior happen in the basic client configuration?

Subject: Unable to change cert.id password - more info.

This problem is only on this one cert.idI may be able to create a dummy certifier in a cpouple of days, if that one fails i will mail it to you.

We are on 8.5 Gold, Windows 2003 Sp2 2gb ram, hosted on WMvare.

Admin is 8.5 running on Windows XP. You ask if the same behavior happens in Basic configuration, I thought the Adminclient only came in one version.

This server is in our testing environment, so I’ll just terminate it and set it up again, it’s not critical. But I will try to create a cert.id and mail you if it fails.

Does same behavior happen in the basic client configuration?
