The below error message is being seen, when attempting to mail in to a customised mailin database.
Currently the work around is to create a new copy of the database each time this error starts occuring, which resolves the issue until the database receives approx 1000 docs again.
Any ideas on how to prevent this error?
Have already attempted new copy, allow more fields in database, compaction.
Error transferring to XXXX/SERVERS/AU mail.box; Cannot store document - database has too many unique field names. Please set the ‘Allow more fields in database’ option or ask your administrator to compact the database.

Thanks,
Had already tried all this as well, the error is not being caused by the mail.box but when the actual database receives approx 1000 docs.

You need to run fixup and compact programs on the mail file database…also try upall command too…

Or, if the mailserver is allowed to go down for a moment: just delete the mail.box (save any mail still there after bringing down the router first) and let the server/router recreate it when it restarts.
