I was getting this error for a while now after upgrading to R6.x and I also moved the server on to new hardware. It didn’t seem to have a problem before. There is a Notes Cross-Certificate document in the NAB for SCCVMC08/12/2004 04:25:14 PM Error locating a Domino Directory entry for certifier /O=SCCVMC: Entry not found in index

I tried to re- cross certify the SCCVMC domain but I still get the same error and now get a new error

I am getting this now after upgrading from 6.5 to 7.01. Mark posted this back in 2004 and I did a search but only have found Mark’s post.

Mark or any one know a fix or what is causing this?

I’m having the same problem as well. I opened a ticket with Lotus Support on this and sent them the before and after ID file. They said the files were identical and couldn’t help me at all. The only fix was to downgrade and get a backup of the ID file.

This weekend, I tried to upgrade one of our servers from 6.5.4 FP2 to 7.0.1. Everything seemed to go fine, but when I tried to replicate with other servers, I got the message “The signature on the certificate was found to be invalid” and the replication failed. I downgraded to 6.5.5 and when I started the server again, same issue. To resolve it, I needed to find a backup of the server.id and overwrite the server.id that was causing the message. With the server working again, I decided to try the upgrade one more time and saw the same result. Again, I needed to downgrade and copy the backup server.id to the data directory. The Domino 7.0.1 upgrade changes the ID file so that the error occurs no matter which version of Domino I try.

Is it possible that there is a problem with the ID file that only 7.0.X sees or could this be a bug?
