One of our administrators recently left the company and we are now receiving the error “Policies and settings documents signed by ********** are no longer valid because this person does not have the required access level or roles to the Domino Directory.”
I have edited and signed all the policy documents in the Domino Directories and restarted the servers but this error is still occurring.
I did search the forum but no one has posted a solution to this issue.
Subject: RE: Error: Policies and settings documents…
I had a similar situation where I recertified myself to a new certifier and suddenly the policies and settings I had signed were no longer authorised. The adminp renaming protocols had failed to resign the policy documents with my new Distinguished Name although the Domino Directory Access Control List had been modified accordingly.Using the Actions menu, Resign Policy action, whilst signed on with my new ID appeared not to resolve the problem; in fact error messages appeared in the Domino Log to suggest that the new signature had been appended to the old signature rather than replacing it.
I resolved the issue (my workaround) by copying the named signatory of the unauthorised policy documents (old distinguished name plus new distinguished name) into my PC clipboard, and then creating a new entry in the Access Control List of the Domino Directory by pasting this text into the Add User panel, and assigning Policy Creator, Modifier, and Reader authority.
I am currently using 7.0.2 FP2 in all Domino Servers and 7.0.2 in most Notes Clients so I have no idea whether this issue is prevalent in 7.0.3 yet or 8.0
