I have this error message on my server console:
What does it mean?
11/27/2006 05:07:09 PM Error on Listen function: NETBIOS unit/lana number specified in NOTES.INI is not valid on this system, or a network is not started

Subject: Error on domino server console
The NETBIOS and LAN0tcpip errors originate from the fact that your server wants to load these ports due to your config. Most probably, they are enabled in the Ports section of your server document. In general, only TCPIP should be enabled. Restart the server if needed.
The database corrupt issue refers to your log.nsf being corrupt. Best thing you can do is shut down the server, delete log.nsf and restart it. Domino will recreate that file automatically.

I have the same error message and I’ve disabled the NETBIOS, but the error message still there. Pls help…

Hi Halim,
The port is configured in two different places.
First place is the server document, where I believe you have allready disabled.
Second is on the server. On your server console type: “show allports”, and you will have the list of ports you are using on the system, then you just type on your console: “stop port netbios” where netbios is the port name from the previous step.
