"Error loading USE"

I was waiting and hoping that release 6.01 would fix this bug, but it hasn’t.

When you start your Mac on OS 9 and launch Notes, you get multiple errors like “Error loading USE or USELX module : EditLayouts”, “Error loading USE or USELX module : SetPrevLib” or “Error loading USE or USELX module : Common”.

After you discard all those error dialogs by hitting the OK buttons, if you quit Notes and launch it again, the errors don’t happen. The errors return the next time you restart your computer and start Notes for the first time.

This happens with Mac OS 9.2.2 (and maybe other earlier 9.2 versions) with computers set up to run with Multiple Users on and not.

I’ve tried trashing the Notes Preferences file and redoing the preferences, but these errors still happen.

Has anyone encountered this problem or have a clue what could be causing it?

Instead of just waiting and hoping, you could call Lotus Support and actually report the problem. That’s likely to get it fixed faster. There’s no SPR currently, so nobody is going to be working on it.

(P.S. Complaining about something here does not count as reporting a bug.)

In the meantime, you might try the Recompile All LotusScript function in bookmarks.nsf and see whether that helps. You will of course have to ship the file to a workstation that has Domino Designer, to do this.

I have the same problem for many users. R5 client is OK. It only happens to R6 clients. I have to back to R5.
