Error Launching N-3UPDG.EXE -3 - The System cannot find the file specified

I have previously successfully (to a degree - not all values in the correct fields!) migrated Outlook Archive PST files, and Outlook/Exchange Personal Contacts using the Lotus/IBM migration tools.

However, I am now seeing this error message under 6.0.1 installations. (6.0.1 CF1)

When sending a client the Upgrade Button in a mail, it presents a slightly different error message but essentially the same thing.

Error Launching NMSXUPGD.exe 3,CN=ServerName/OU=etc/OU=UK/O=Org,mail\username.nsf, 652245c32b8d785b80256d560034b1f8 - The System cannot find the file specified

OK.

My mistake in two places here.

  1. The switch is NUPGRADE.EXE 3 (without the minus “-”) I could have sworn in R5 it was NUPGRADE.EXE -3 … never mind. All good now.

  2. Error Launching NMSXUPGD.exe 3,CN=ServerName/OU=etc/OU=UK/O=Org,mail\username.nsf, 652245c32b8d785b80256d560034b1f8 - The System cannot find the file specified

This was because the upgrade tools were infact not installed.

Moral of the story, never trust someone else to do a build for you, depite how crystal clear you make it!
