Error installing Domino on Debian linux

Hi,

I tried installing Domino 6.0.3. and 6.5 on Debian Linux.

Unfortunatly the installation ends with:

Error 32512.

I know Debian is unsupportorted, but it should work.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Fred

Hi Fred,

I have a server running 6.5 on Debian Stable but with a customised 2.4.21 Kernel. I also have a test machine on Debian Unstable. Both work so far and installed nicely. Do you have more information at what point the installation stops ?

Cheers

Heini

Hi,

I completed all the installation screens, and confirmed all installation choices. The installation then starten. The “Error 32512” (weird number, but the way) appears after a few minutes (slow machine). When I try to start the Domino server, it complains about some libc file.

Thanks.

Fred

Hi Fred,

the libc error is a common one. For Debian stable please

apt-get install libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1

What does it say now ?

Hi Guys,

Good to see few others who are running Domino on Debian. I am one of those.

Currently running 6.0.2cf2.

I tried upgrading / New install to 6.0.3 , what happened was when i start the server, i will get two to three lines & immediately server crash message PID no. This happens everytime. So I think something to do with OS.

Hmm,

seems that Fred has given up.

For Subramaniam.

Did you install this with the correct authorisations ?

I really recommend Point 1-9 from this website.

6.5 does install completetly with its own JVM, maybe indeed it is a better go.

Hi,

I haven’t given up, there just wasn’t any time yesterday.

Currently I am reinstalling Debian. And by the looks of it, I’d better try again with Domino 6.0.2

I’ll get back on the matter later today.

I had the same error but in Mandrake.Once I installed that library the error has gone, now I have the error 2816 that I have to investigate.
