Hi,
Can anyone help me with this problem. We have just installed a new iSeries with 6.5.3. We have created a Domino sever in our domain, and replicated a large (40Gb) database from one of our Wintel Servers over to the Domino server on the i.
When I try and create a full text index on this database I get:-
“Full Text Message: Memory Allocation Error. errcode=123”
“Error full text indexing document NT000250AA /name of databaseft.ft Not enough memory for Full Text Indexing or Search”
“Error full texting Dir/Database.nsf: Not enough memory for Full Text Indexing or Search”.
This happens every hour and we just can’t get an ft to create for this database.
It FT’s fine on Windows platform. We have thrown more memory at it on the iSeries partition, but still we get the same error message.
Please help anyone
Many Thanks
Rob P

Thanks Peter I will try the critical fix. In this instance I think it is down to corrupt documents. I found the Note ID and deleted the document and the full text index starts to create, then eventually finds another corruption and I get the same error with a different Note.ID. I’m going to try FTP’ing the database rather than replicating (just because of it’s sheer size), and also the upgrade.
Many Thanks
Rob

Rob, did you manage to resolve this. If yes, how and can you post the solution.
The database must be huge to be 40GB - How long did it take to replicate ?

Hi Jemma,
NOt as yet. I’m going to put the CF1 on tomorrow to see if that helps, but I did locate the first “corrupt” document and deleted it then, it then started to create the FTI and then failed when it found the next corrupt document. The FT has been successfully deleted and recreated on the server we are trying to get it from, but as soon as we move it to iSeries we get this. I’ve had them try FTP’ing it up too, but to no avail.
My next try is to replicate it to another Wintel box to see if it’s anything iSeries specific.
Have you any ideas on this?
Any help greatly appreciated, and when I do get the fix I will post on here.

Rob,
I was wondering if you ever found a solution to this? I am seeing a similar message in my logs and would like to know what steps you took to resolve it, if you were able to resolve it. Thanks.

The Critical Fixpack 653 CF1 fixed my issue, and it now builds the index without error (after I changed the FTINDEX parameter in the .ini file to allow larger files than the default 6Mb).
The only question I have now is that, firstly, the index takes much longer to create than on xSeries, which I would probably expect due to the difference in processor speed between the 2 platforms, but secondly, and more importantly, the size of the index is much less on the iSeries, it’s 2500Mb on the x and only 900Mb on the i?! The application seems to work fine, but anyone got any ideas on the cause of the difference in size?
Thanks

Rob,I’m having the same problem on a 10gb database. How did you set the FTINDEX parameter in your notes.ini to allow for larger databases?
Thanks,
