Hi

It seems that you have to many documents in a folder.

If the messages must delievered to a folder, have an agent move the documents out of the folder once in a while.

I have this error now also. The problem stemmed from an over-zealous Event Handler reporting a corrupted database to me via email. I received 44,000 emails. These are processed by a ‘junk mail’ rule, and put into the junkmail folder.

However, after there were 32046 entries in the folder, I received the “folder is larger than supported” message. The rule is not longer working, and replication is not finalising, again with this error message.

I have

  • compacted the database, both on my laptop and my server (on the server with “-c”)

  • run updall on the database on the server

  • on the laptop clicked ctrl-shift-f9 to reindex all views.

  • examined the views on the server for (junkmail) and there is no space used by this view any more.

Still I have this problem.

I am on 6.5.3.

What should I try next?

Why do we have some 32000 limit anyway?

Jim.

Hmm. Since I “knew” where the problme was, I thought I would delete the folder, replicate, and then refresh the design and replicate again. This worked. What would I have done if i didn’t know the name of the offending folder?!? The error message didn’t say which folder it was.

Again, why do we have this limit???
