Error: ATTEMPT TO ACCESS SERVER DENIED

Hi,

Something weird has happened over the weekend. We can no longer log into the server using the Notes client. Access through DWA is working ok, although our Quickplace portlets no longer function.

I tried to access the server as Administrator to check settings and that does not work either. I get “ACCESS TO SERVER by Administrator/DOMAIN was denied”.

The only change made was on Friday, a new Domino server was added to the Domain. The new server was a Domino 8 Messaging Server running Sametime. Other than that, I can think of any of changes made to the server.

Now, the biggest problem is that I cannot log in as Administrator to the server to even look at what has changed, let alone try and fix things.

Can someone give me some ideas on how to proceed?

Regards,

Vivek

Update: I’ve got access to the server document through HTTP and as Administrator. This suggests that NRPC is restricting access. I had a look at a previous forum thread on this topic and have tried changing the “Enforce Security access setting” to Yes, but that made no difference.

There are fields on the server doc for access server where you can specify all users in trusted directories or alternately specify groups or individuals with access or without access. It sounds like one of these got changed. On second thought, that should affect web access too, but that might be it. Can you edit the server doc via the web? Depending on ACL settings, you may be able to shut down the server and access the addressbook locally.

“On second thought, that should affect web access too, …”

Or maybe just not, if “enforce server access settings” is set to “No” for HTTP/HTTPS access (which is the default, if I remember correctly).

What about webadmin.nsf?
