Error after upgrading to Lotus Release 8.5.3 FP2 SHF22

Upgraded to R8.5.3.FP2 Install was successful and every thing looked fine until I tried to open a data base which ran a script and got following message in loop “Error loading USE or USELSX module:*javacon”

Any ideas ?

Subject: It happens when you first launch Notes client

Try this solution:1. Close Notes client and Notes designer;

  1. Launch only notes designer;

  2. Open lib causing error that uses *javacon

  3. Add whatever to the code (i.e. space) and delete it and then save lib to force it recompile.

  4. Open other libs causing errors, that use lib mentioned in step 3. and repeat step 4.

I read somewhere here, that the error raises when java console from Notes Client interferes with Notes Designer. When you remember to launch designer first, you shouldn’t have such problems.

Subject: One Possible Solution

Steps to resolve:

The error below is a result of the Notes.Jar file being in the wrong location (or not installed) on your machine. It should be located in the following path under your notes directory:

jvm\lib\ext

For example, mine is in the following path

C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\jvm\lib\ext

Please try the steps below and let me know if this resolves your issue. If not, we can set-up some time to connect so I can review the settings on your computer.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Locate your Notes Directory (You can locate it by looking at the properties of the Desktop Shortcut)

  2. Ensure that you have the following folder structure under your notes directory: jvm\lib\ext

    -Just create the blank folders if they don’t exist

  3. Place the following file into the ext folder.

Notes.jar (search)

  1. You may or may not need to restart Notes, but should just in case.

Subject: Here - answer rename workspace folder

I solved it Smiley … Just delete the folder [notesdata] \ workspace (or rename it to), then it goes again. At least that was the case with me … There are a few unfortunate side effects of this action, but it does unfortunately not matter if you want to get ahead Wink
