Error after installing Notes 9.0.1

Hello !,

Quick help required?

Just downloaded the NOTES_9.0.1_MAC_EN_EVALUATION file for Mac Mavericks.

After successful installation I am getting this message. [Unable to open Name and Address Book (names.nsf)] Need to urgently start using my lotus notes mail.

I have tried installing different version of notes and it did not work. Before upgrading to Mavericks, lotus notes was working fine up until the end, when the below issue started first. After I upgraded to Mavericks, I thought this issue will be resolved (esp after the release of 9.0.1) but this has still not been resolved. Note, the notes app does not even open up.

I would not be connecting/using notes to any server. I have a copy of my old notes email (*.nsf file) and I want to read my old emails.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Subject: Try the following…

May not resolve your issue, as, if I am reading your post correctly, it appears you had a problem PRIOR to upgrading to Mavericks with your names.nsf, but…from a similar thread;Link Notes://iris2/85257B35003DD001/3871784A95EDCCF985257512005E16E4/842C2ABFA95FAB8585257C18007E4B99 “I ended up removing Notes and doing a reinstall (included an OS reboot) and Notes then was able to set itself up (ask for my Notes ID file etc) and launch ok.”

Checking with development team if other things to look at.

Subject: Solved!

Thanks, but I tried a different solution. Apparently the names.nsf file was missing in the specific directory so I copied another *.nsf file and renamed it names.nsf and that did the trick (though I get a error msg while starting lotus notes, I can still work on it).

thanks for your time.
